Date of incident: May 2024
Role: Kindergarten teacher
Injuries: Whiplash with neck, shoulder and back pain; ear pain with possible permanent hearing issues; sleep disturbance; anxiety and trauma responses, including difficulty with night driving and loud crowds.

What happened: Yasmin was travelling with her family on Caveat Road at Flagstone when another vehicle came toward them on the wrong side of the road and there was a head-on collision. Their vehicle was written off. She has ongoing pain and trauma symptoms, and imaging has raised the possibility of lasting hearing problems.

What happened: Roger was walking down wooden stairs at a rental property in Banyo when the third step gave way and snapped. His foot rolled under him and the injury pulled bone with the soft tissue. The stairs had been visibly rotting and lifting, and an earlier inspection report had already flagged the broken step.

What happened: On a school building site, Will was carrying a long corrugated roof sheet with colleagues when his foot hit insulation on a beam and he slipped. The sheet stayed up as he fell/got up, making the movement awkward; he felt the shoulder tear. Prior football shoulder injury from years earlier had not been an issue for about a decade.
