Injury Check Queensland – Funding and Independence Policy
Approved by Greg Englhofer · 31 October 2026 · Replaces the previous "no money from law firms" rule

Why this policy exists
Injury Check helps injured Queenslanders understand their options and choose a lawyer for themselves. People need to trust that our information and our shortlist aren't for sale. This policy explains where our money comes from and the rules we follow.
1. No paid referrals, ever
Injury Check never receives money, gifts, discounts or any other benefit for referring or recommending anyone to a law firm. No firm can pay to be on our shortlist, to be ranked higher, or to be featured.
2. How the shortlist is chosen
Firms on our Proper No Win No Fee shortlist are chosen only against our 8 published criteria. They pay us nothing.
3. Software licences to law firms
Injury Check may license its app software to law firms for a flat, fixed fee, set out in a written agreement. The fee never changes with the number of clients, matters, claims or outcomes. A licensed firm may use the app only with its existing clients and never to find new ones. A firm that holds a licence can't be on the shortlist while the licence runs or for 24 months afterwards, and Injury Check users are never passed to it.
4. Other funding
We may also be funded by:
- Sponsors: clearly labelled, and never law firms, insurers or claim-related businesses. Sponsors have no say over our content or the shortlist.
- Grants: always disclosed. Grant bodies have no influence over our content or the shortlist.
- Paid in-app tools: optional features that users pay for themselves.
5. Concise Reporting
Concise Reporting is a separate business. It stays completely separate from Injury Check under our existing firewall: no shared data, no bundling and no cross-selling.
6. Your data
We never share Injury Check users' information with law firms, sponsors or funders unless you ask us to.
7. You choose
You always choose your own lawyer, or whether to use one at all. Our information is general, not legal advice.
8. Openness and review
We publish a list of our funding sources and licensed firms (or, where names can't be shared, the categories) and review this policy every year.
